What is the Mandela Effect?
The premise is that things are changing. Is everyone is remembering the same things wrong? No. Things have CHANGED. Movies, logos, even scriptures. I've heard a number of different theories as to WHY things are changing. CERN, parallel universes, powers of the anti-Christ. In any case, I've gotten more hits on THIS particular subject than any other, which tells me that the internet is seriously concerned.
I will cut to the chase on this. If things were actually changing...I mean legitimately, you would remember people who didn't exist. You would remember personal friends who had died, but turns out that they were still alive. I'm not talking celebrities here...people that you know personally. Things that you had achieved...gone. Mistakes you had made...undone. It wouldn't just be logos and movie quotes. The problem comes when famous lines are used so often in parodies and whatnot that we actually think that that's how it was in the original. "Luke, I am your father" makes sense because it provides an imbedded connection to Star Wars. Therefore it's quoted wrong consistently. If everybody went around quoting Star Wars by saying, "No, I am your father" the Darth Vader /Luke Skywalker context would be lost.
I previously mentioned in my house metaphor that I had eaten some wild turnips. Let me tell you all about my experience with that lovely bit of mind phuckery known as the Mandela Effect. If you're worried enough to do research, you're probably going through the same thing.
There is a forum that I subscribe to that is made up of mostly LDS preppers. I enjoy reading their feedback on current events. I appreciate their zeal and testimony. They have been incredibly supportive and wise when I needed it. I'll go into that on another post.

That's ridiculous! My scriptures say lion and lamb. Here, I'll look it up RIGHT NOW.
Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
I'm so confused. It says wolf. Why does it say wolf? It's supposed to say LION. Oh! I know! Let me look up the one from the Book of Mormon.
2 Nephi 30:12 And then shall the wolf dwell with the lamb; and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf, and the young lion, and the fatling, together; and a little child shall lead them.
<Heart sink. Cold sweat.> There is something to this. <confusion>
It has started. This is beyond crazy, perhaps the beginning of a "miracle" or power performed by the anti-christ Not at all what I would have expected.
The ANTI-CHRIST did this? You mean by the power of Satan? Are the scriptures going to change any more? Has doctrine already been affected? Well, I guess so since Jesus is saying to slay his enemies.

He points out that possessions has been changed to stuff. WTHck? STUFF? Stuff isn't supposed to be in the Bible. Money changers has been changed to bank? No! I specifically remember the word being "money changers" in the parable of the talents. <Look it up> He's right. Bank is a modern concept. Why does it now say bank? In Luke 19:27 Jesus now supposedly says bring mine enemies thither and slay them before me. OMG! That sounds like the Koran! New wine in old bottles. It should say wineskins? I remember bottles on this one, but he has a Bible companion that shows it should say wineskins.
Apparently other things have changed--like logos, etc. It is almost as if we have entered a different time warp.

I don't really care about logos. I'm skipping this video. I'm very concerned about the scriptures being changed, however.
Go to LDS.org. Wolf is also there in Isaiah 11:6. (also in the companion Nephi scriptures) Interesting though, in the search bar, type in wolf, enter, and then narrow the search to scriptures (from the list on the left) ZERO matches!!!!!
Also at LDS.org: LeGrand Richards talk "What After Death". Printed words say wolf shall like down with lion not lamb, interesting. (find it in the paragraph that starts with So I thank God for the thousand years of the millennial reign....) But that is not what he said: start at minute 13 <LINK>
Ok I'm going to this talk. Sure enough! HE SAYS LION!!!! But clear as day...there it is. The transcript has been changed to WOLF!!! OMG!!!!
We are being and will be gaslighted regarding this. We will be made to think, "Oh, I must have read it wrong all these years......."
Can they change the pictures? On lots of meme's, not yet. But can they change pictures? if they can change the printed words, can they change pictures?

Art work is changing? I can't depend on my foundation? I can't trust the scriptures? How will I even determine what's true or not?
The whole time I was growing up the lion had been lying with the lamb in the right foreground of the picture. Now the lion is standing up off to the left and a wolf is lying with the lamb. I NOTICED this during one of those trips. I wish I remembered which one....I had spent years of my childhood looking at it so I certainly noticed a different animal but I couldn't wrap my brain around an ANTIQUE painting CHANGING!
Am I remembering wrong? What else is changing? Is it really possible that we are living in something like the Twilight Zone?
I tried calling my mother. No answer. I called my brother Mikey. My phone was at 16% and tried my best to explain what was going on. I asked him what animal was laying down with the lamb.

I tried to explain about the anti-Christ miracle. Demonic power had altered the scriptures. Everywhere. Every copy. Even old ones that had been in people's houses for decades. I sent him several links to verify what I was trying to tell him. Gotta go. My phone's gonna die.
I asked Husband the same question. Same answer: Lion. Same line of reasoning.
Am I remembering wrong? I mean, I know the scriptures pretty well. Has it changed?
The scriptures have changed throughout the years. Wicked men changed them. Joseph has made corrections.

That must have been my safe word because everything for him suddenly became very clear. He told me that there was no way that Heavenly Father would allow Satan that much power. We need the scriptures and there's no way that Satan had altered them except through the limited powers of fallible men.
I laid in bed after everyone else settled for the night and just stared at the ceiling. Spin. Spin. Spin. Confusion recognized. Begin detox.
Nightmares occupied my sleep. By 5 am I jerked awake with a gasp because Satan had slipped the f-word in somewhere into an old conference talk and now there was no doubt that he had corrupted the iron rod.
I told Husband about my night and he asked if it would be OK to stay home with me and just spend time. He talked it out with me and even though I had regained my footing the night before he knew I needed his strength.
Oh great. You've got to take another day off to spend with your crazy wife.

The transcription department often corrects General Conference talks to say what the scripture actually said instead of the misquote by whichever general authority.
We probably remember lion and lamb because of the song Spirit of God, and paintings to that effect.
I'm still trying to get my feet under me and this thread has made me start questioning whether we are living in the Twilight Zone. I had nightmares all night about entire verses of scripture disappearing of the page right before my eyes and then reappearing having been altered.
Pull yourselves together! I NEED you of all people to be strong and not blown by every wind of doctrine. The scriptures are not being altered by some demonic power or miracle of the antichrist. They HAVE been previously changed because of the evil and craftiness of men, but that's the Bible and Joseph has made corrections to that effect. God is not going to allow His holy word to be magically changed as is being suggested here.
Stop it. Just stop.

She went on about the wineskin issue. I tried to point out that many other translations of the Bible still do say wineskins.
She insisted that she's got two different versions of LDS scriptures that she has compared side by side and there are differences.
I explain out that this minor difference is proof positive that Satan didn't actually alter all the world's scriptures. I gave her a link to lds.org where they describe changes to new editions of the scriptures.
Then I tried to give her a warning.
IF people want to go down this rabbit hole let me just take you on a preview of where that will lead:
"OMG Satan is changing the scriptures, even old versions that I've had in my family for the last 100 years! Who knows what else he's changed. I just can't trust the scriptures anymore. I guess I'll just have to rely on my perfect memory of what the scriptures USED to say. I just won't read Satan's scriptures anymore!"
"PST! Sister Jones. Did you know that the anti Christ performed a demonic miracle and changed all the copies of our scriptures? Oh, YES! Don't you remember the Lion laying down with the lamb? Well NOW it says WOLF!!! See? Here's the proof!"

I then gave her 15 movie quotes that everybody gets wrong. Look it up, if you have time. It's incredible how malleable our own memories are.
Having the discussion, providing proof of faulty memory, pointing out evidential flaws in the theory was very good for me. It solidified reality in my own voice.
She is still freaking out. I'm not the only one who warned her. Another good and reliable friend, Foamy, who helped me previously kept going back and forth trying to calm her hysteria. He finally threw up his hands and said,
I've said my peace. This will be my last post on this thread.
Proof positive that I am still very vulnerable. I texted my brother to that effect and apologized for my hysteria and passing along bad information.
Chalk it up to one more thing I have to be embarrassed about. At least my mother didn't answer the phone. Unfortunately for her, I have been her filter. She would have made a meal of it as well.
The Mandela Effect is a BIG LOAD of RUBBISH!!!!!
